Senior Pricing Analyst
CANANIDATE REQUIRMENTS
5+ years of experience as an actuarial analyst or quantitative pricing analyst, or related experience; Property & Casualty experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics or related field, or the equivalent in related work experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAS required
Successful completion of 1 or more actuarial exams
Under general supervision, perform intermediate pricing analyses and provide actuarial support for filings. This position works closely with the Pricing Director, Product Manager and Data Scientists to develop appropriate pricing and product strategies to support organizational goals.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Produce sound rate level indications with an intermediate understanding of actuarial ratemaking methodology
Support state filing process with actuarial memorandum, actuarial filing forms, correspondence with regulators, measurement of rate impacts, and documentation of analysis
Perform intermediate pricing analyses, such as rate calculations, base rate offsets, territorial pricing, limit and deductible pricing, segmentation analysis, and coverage analysis
Quantify, validate and prepare proposed rates
Prepare actuarial proposals for management and business partners
Pull, aggregate, and query rate-making data
With supervision, develop a recommendation on rates and rating plan to satisfy the financial objectives of the organization
Perform intermediate trend analysis (e.g. frequency and severity trends)
Assist with the automation and enhancement of processes to improve efficiencies
Assist with financial forecasting
Assist in pricing projects and ad-hoc requests
Assist with the production of management information to inform business partners on the health of the business
Communicate effectively with management and business partners
Adhere to internal and external compliance requirements/standards
Develop skills through continuing education opportunities
